01 v70 Timing Adjust

Guys,
Did my timing belt a few weeks ago (01 v70 T5 220k) and everything went fine. Car drove just fine. 40 miles later, I got the 014 ODB code. Left bank timing advanced or something like that. I changed the exhaust solenoid. 200 miles later, my 014 code is back.

I can only think that either my cam sensor is bad (doubt it) or I'm off a tooth on one of the cams. Does anyone have the procedure to line up up the cams/crank? I saw the ticks on the cam, and marked the crank before I went at it (repeatedly with impact). I figured if I botched it that bad, I'd be out an engine. (Car runs just great, reset the check engine light a couple of times hoping it was just a mistake...)

Any Suggestions?

look up the replacing timing belt here for visual details but basically the timing marks for the cam nearest the firewall is about 2 o'clock and the one towards the front of the engine is 10 o'clock. This corresponds to the top of the timing cover where the two lines on the sprockets of the cams have a little line which should correspond to these marks. As you stated, chances are if you did not line it up the car would not start, engine would be scrapped or run very rough. The bottom mark is on the crank pulley and corresponds to the line on the oil pump pulley..about 10 o'clock position.

You said you replaced the solenoid..do you mean O2 sensor? You know there are two and the code corresponds to on and another code to the other.. bank 1 and bank 2. If you replaced the sensor what brand of sensor was it. It has been reported on many occasions that some aftermarket sensors will trigger the error. I have and aftermarket on mine and it has triggered the code but i passed emissions with that on after i reset the code.
