strut spring seats

Post by shawn »

I have a 94 turbo wagon. It has developed a wierd sqeeking sound in the front end and the ride has gotten really rough and rough sounding. The dealership says it is the Strut spring seats... has anyone here replaced them? I am wondering how big this job is and if anyone else has experianced this problem.

Thanks,
Shawn

hey shawn,

The seats are $23 each from fcpgroton.com

To replace the seats you have to remove the springs & struts, so while you are at it you might as well get new struts if you haven't yet seeing as you have a '94. Search on fcpgroton.com for cheap prices for struts & strut mounts.

Oh, heres a writeup on removing & installing struts which you would have to do to replace the seats:
