Volvo Repair Database New Grille

I just replaced my stock headlights with jewels off an '04 c70. I also added fog lamps. The last part of my face lift was an egg crate grille. Unfortunately, It came without an accommodation for the slash so I had to screw it on, but you really can't see it unless you know it's there.

Oh wow, that looks a lot better. To bad they did not make the car stock like that.

Yoyoyo, that's gangsta. No really it looks great! Mind posting where you got the materials? I've been looking to upgrade the gangsta status.

Damn, that looks CLEAN. I have to get ahold of an eggcrate for my XC. For some reason, the previous owner decided that it would be a good idea to replace the factory eggcrate with a waterfall w/blue emblem....ugh

That looks awesome! I want to do this to mine now

Do the new headlights help your nighttime visibility at all? My low-beams are terrible.

WOW! SOOO Cool!
I'm usually not interested in appearance "mods"
Most times I prefer the stock look simply because I like vintage cars but THIS is wonderful!
Well done!
Have you got a write up in the works or thinking about putting one together? ... It would be popular ... What inspired you to do this? I mean, are you just into design or simply hated the old look or maybe just "saw" this in your head & then decided to do it?
Awesome mod! Stellar idea. I'd like to hear more of your thoughts about this. The results are Killer!

All the lighting came from swedishautoparts.com I spoke to Tony and he knocked about 20% off since I bought everything at once. All the lights are genuine Volvo. The fogs came with the grilles, rocker switch, jumpers and relay. The wiring is already there since they were an option for the S70. The instructions were very detailed. I'm a shade tree mechanic at best, but installed everything myself in a couple hours.

The vision at night is unbelievable brighter. It's a much bigger difference than I expected. I've done a lot to make the car go faster and handle better. It's nice to be able to see up the road a bit.

I had seen photos of volvos on the net with similar mods. With a little research I found the headlamps were available on the '04 c70 and are an exact fit. You can't just replaces the lenses though. The ridges on the original lamps direct the light. The reflectors are different for the clear lenses so you have to replace the whole assembly.

The egg crate grill is from IPD. I looked around on eBay, but no one was any cheaper. I've bought parts from IPD before and I trust them.

Thanks for all your comments.
