We're losing MyVolvoPartsOnline as a sponsor :-(

Post by matthew1 »

I got the call last night from Dan at MVPO in Sacramento (where I was born! Ha!). He said they're going to try new things with their ad dollars, "test the waters", which I fully respect.

Thanks to MVPO for a year+ of sponsorship. You allowed me to make this site better, which in turn helped MVS members.

If you have time, please contact MyVolvoPartsOnline them and let them know they'll be missed as an MVS sponsor.

I'll take their ad down sometime later today, and have a somber ceremony to mark the occasion.

In the meantime, if you have a suggestion for a parts shop you think would be a good fit to replace them, please let me know in this topic, or contact me privately.

This is indeed a pity. Although I have never been able to use them because of the extra costs once the package reaches our grasping government's hands, I have steered many members to them.

I have contacted them as you suggest.

Thanks Bill. Dan said on the phone that our paths may cross again. I hope so. Advertising is a strange game, the sands are always shifting, so I understand where they're coming from when he said he wants to ensure their ad dollars are being put to best use.

Not only are they a quality parts shop (subsidiary of a Volvo dealer), but they had the best or 2nd best-looking ad here :-).

Dan said the same to me in his reply to my email.

One good point about their site was being able to put a part number in to get an accurate description and any part number that may have superseded it.

Hopefully...........

A local place I have been using, also in Sacramento which is more geared towards refurbished OEM volvo parts and some new ones is called Sweden Auto Wharehouse. They are very fair, prices are reasonable and helpful. Their website is sawvolvo.com

They ship to all over the US.
