My battery suddenly died...didn't know why. Noticed that the fan stayed on forever, until the battery died. The relay switch that tells the fan to come on and off is busted.
Turns out there is a recall - #110 - but Volvo says it was already done on my car in 2002 (bought my '99 Volvo used). Is this right? Can they refuse to replace a part that they have a known issue with?
Since Volvo (apparently) doesn't sell seperately it's costing $295.00 for the part.

Yes ... they can easily refuse you. A recall was done meaning that part was changed with an updated one.
