V70D5 water causing brake failure message

I have a 2006 V70 D5 SE which, about a month ago after driving through heavy rain, flashed the message "Anti Skid Deactivated" followed by "Brake Failure. Stop Safely" or words to that effect. I called the garage out to it (because once I turned the engine off it wouldn't start again). They recovered it and connected it up to the computer which displayed every single fault under the sun. They didn't have time to do any further checks that day so just left it in the workshop. The next day when they had time to look at it, it started first time and there were no faults detected by their computer. Today (Sunday Ryder Cup rainy day) I have just driven a short distance through very heavy rain. As soon as I had driven through a standing puddle of about 1" water the same messages flashed up on the message screen. Also the temperatur guage and rev counter have stopped working. I was only yards from home so have just parked up and left it to dry out. The car has done 63000 miles and I have owned it for 18 months during which it has been fantastic. Any ideas ?

is the bottom engine cover missing? I suspect that some electronic connector is getting wet when you drive thru a puddle of water.

As the connector dries out, no problems.

Thanks for that but the bottom engine cover is in place. You're probably right but which connector I wonder ?

I have just found out the cause of the problem thanks to the main agents supercomputer (expensive diagnosis). Apparently the water has got into the CEM unit and caused corrosion to the contacts. It will require a new CEM unit (Car brain) at a cost of over £1000 (Sterling). Pleased I am not!
