Engine code PO 301

Post by Michael Dixon »

I just had a PO301 code come up, misfire in cylinder #1. 2000 V70XC AWD 120K miles, I changed the spark plugs and double checked the gap to .28. Copper core plugs and it seems to run slightly better. The check engine light is still on and it sounds like it is still misfiring slightly. Does anyone have a solution without purchasing the engine harness? Or is it just the ignition
core for cylinder #1?

You need to replace the ignition coil (aka - coilpak) for no.1 sparkplug. Expect the others to go shortly afterwords, within the next 2 to 6 months. You can buy them at Autozone for $50.00 or, if you can go with out the car for a few days, order the HD ignition coils for the R models from IPDUSA.com, also about $50.00 plus shipping. Welcome to the world of coil on plugs.

That was the fix, new ignition coil plugs and double check the gaps to .28 does the trick. Check engine light will go out after a few trips.

Thanks,

Mike
