Melissa,
I was in the car business for ten years (but no more, thank GOD!) and I would lose many a warranty sale to someone financing their car through a local Credit Union. They have very fair prices there, and most do not require that you finance the car through them, only that you are (or become) a member. You can give this the litmus test by calling a CU for a quote on the type of coverage you want. Then call a local Volvo dealer and ask for the Finance Manager. Tell him you are buying a Volvo privately and are interested in a warranty. Remember to mirror the specs of the warranty to the already CU quoted warranty. Also, the F&I manager will be positively salivating at the prospect of this 'pure profit' potential warranty. If the CU warranty falls within your budget, I would definitely consider it. Good luck!

Thank you for your informed reply about financing and Credit Union. If I get the volvo wagon I may finance thru the credit union. Good idea. Will post progress.
