96 850 odometer help

Post by loumarkd »

I have got the cluster out of the dashboard on my 96 850 turbo. I am replacing the gear for the odometer.

I have got the front of the cluster removed. I can not get the gear box out. There are 3 torque screws on the back... are these holding the gear box in place? I have printed out a few guides on how to fix the odometer but none of them actually tell you what bolts need to come out for the gear box. Please look at the pics attached. There is one bolt on the bottom that you can not really access. Does that bolt need to come out in order for me to get the gear box out? In the pictures it looks like the whole box comes out with the metal round thing attached. Do i just need to pull on it to pop it out? Please help!

Thanks!

The entire odometer assembly comes out, remove the screws in the last picture.

+1

Once it is out, then you can take it apart to replace the gear.
