We just had a used tranny put into our 2000 S80.
The used transmission shifts fine, but under acceleration, it makes a whining noise.
I also noticed when starting, the tach bounces up and down and takes a bit longer to start (crank sensor?)-CEL is back on as well.
When replacing the tranny, the starter broke, so there is a new starter in.
Is the starter and crank sensor problem related?
Will the noise in the transmission go away, and is it harming anything?
Thanks.
problems after transmission replacement!

check your flywheel for starting problem, bcos once there is a dent or crack no matter how small it is the starting would be fluctuating. have the same problem too after changing my transmission my car can not start untill i try for about 3 to 5 times b4 it start.
