Volvo '02 S40....Ok here's the problem..The AC is on full blast and will not decrease as I move the dial to a lower speed. Help!?

My 2000 v40 has the same problem. A/C light flashes, indicating some kind of ECC fault, and then the blower comes on Full. Not a problem now as it's summer, but gets a bit noisy... Checked the ECC fuse under dash, seems OK. Not sure what else to check.

Just a follow-up -- after a couple weeks with the blower stuck on full, it died entirely. Turns out the blower motor control module fried itself. part itself was not too expensive, but labor was a bit pricey to get in under the dash.
