Today, while waiting for someone, I leaned over and gave it a shot at moving the backrest portion forward (which has never worked since I've had the car) and to my amazement it worked!! It seemed forced and was verrryyy slow at moving to the upright position, I didn't dare take my hands off until I got it to a reasonable position.

Once I let go, no go again! At least I'm happy to have it in a usable position until I can get the new switch in!
