All-
Two questions:
1) I've developed an strange 'intermittent'' sound in the front end of my car. It only occurs when I make a hard left turn (normal left turn doesnt usally cause it but a U-turn does.) The sound continues even after the car straighent outs and last for a varying amount of time but eventually goes away. It sound is a whining sounds but not high pitched like a slipping belt. It also is apparent when reving the car in neutral but it not as loud. Strange thing is that it only happens after hard left turns and eventually goes away. Could it be the power steering pump but if so, why only on hard left turns and not right turns?
Any ideas?
2) When changing my tires, I took a look at the front suspension and noticed the the rear control arm bushing has sizable crack in the rubber on both the driver and passeneger sides. Is it ok to replace just the rear bushing or better to replace the entire control arm. Is this something that an average do-it-youselfer could tackle using common tools.
Thanks in advance, Kevin

If you don't have a press you need to let a shop do it
(I don't know about your noise, it's a Volvo, it could be literally anything)
