Brake Light Relay (Embarrassing question...)

Hi all.. first time post on this site but seems full of solutions, but can't find the one for mine...

Got a UK 01 Volvo S60. I have the intermittent "check brake lights" warning and have bought a new relay for my brake lights. Was wondering what relay it is though as i cannot find anything in the manual...

now the embarrassing question...

also, for the life of me i cannot get the relays out?which for an electronics engineer is embarrassing. is there a mechanism, special technique, brute force, do you have to remove the panel? whisper softly in swedish to it?
