External Atmospheric Thermostat Issues

Post by RudolfMDLT »

Hi guys!

Awesome site and great source of information! :)

To the point:

Had a tracking system removed from my 2001 S60, and when it came back form the auto electrician, the external
thermostat was broken - sometimes is works, sometimes it doesn't and when it doesn't work, it reads between 0 and 3 degrees Celsius, which cuts out the aircon.

I have tried search for this part's location, but every search including the word "thermostat" brings up results for the cooling system. :)

Anybody know where the external thermostat is located? The mechanic who worked on my car is on leave and the rest of the people at the shop are stumped as to where the thermostat is?

Thank you so much for your time,

Rudolf

Here's what the volvo dealer gave me - any idea how to dismantle the mirror? :) No 6 is the sensor.

I got it off the door, but no ideas further? :)

Right!

I have clicked the buggers out - why there are two of them, one in each mirror, is beyond me. and they seem fine - I can't see any evidence of damage. Have I found the right thermo's?
