Crap, I just bought 7 quarts of it last week at ~$7/qt (5 for the 5-qt jug). Oh well.

I just loaded 24 qts of "Extended Performance", which is also for $3.99 :wink: . Thats the cheapest so far.

i just got valvoline max life semi synthetic for 14.99 for 2 gallons with mail in rebate limit 4 gallons

I wouldn't run 10w30 in these cars.

what do you run and why would you not use 10/30?
1994 850 na green 187k on body, 275k on motor(backwards?), unrestricted airbox, 960 TB, persus wheels, Lowered, IPD poly upper and trans mounts.
1974 144 k-jet m40 satin black, 250k on body, 25k on rebuilt motor(running...usually)

10W-30 is just fine, as is 5W-30, 0W-40, 5W-40, 10W-40....

I use 10W30 in mine.

Al, how long do you run the EP oil in your car? 15000 miles sure would be nice, but I'd probably end up adding another few quarts in that amount of time :roll:

I mostly use EP for my M-B truck since Benz engines are a bit more picky on oils, but I still change oil every 6k or so. BTW, EP has nothing to do with the weight, I use 5w30 in winters and 10w30 for summers regardless its EP or not. EP is bit better than Mobil 1 since it contains 50 percent more "SuperSyn" than Mobil 1, meaning it will maintain its viscosity better than regular synthetic oil. For the same price, why not?
Oh, I have to mention that I'm NOT using EP for my 96 since its "cleaning agent" could cause older engine leak. Use HM (high mileage) mobil 1 would be my suggestion.
