S60 Temperature Guage/Coolant Issue

Post by vdewolf12 »

I have a 2007 S60 Volvo. My coolant warning light comes on *stop safely coolant low*....checked coolant and it is slightly low...filled. This has gone on for two whole bottles of coolant. Checking hoses, the hose on the top side is very hot and the hose on the bottom is cool. No coolant is leaking, it appears to be evaporating. Any ideas?

It either really IS leaking (slowly), from a pinhole cracked radiator, a cracked coolant bottleor the worst, or a bad head gasket!
If your oil looks normal, do a pressure test, you will find out where it's going

I can't figure out why the top hose would be overheated and the bottom hose would be cold. ?? The coolant isn't leaking, it must be evaporating.

I have 55,000 miles. It is under 4 years old. Do you think that would still be covered?

I need to find a good Volvo service department in Dallas. The people I deal with at Volvo Autobahn are awful!
