I just throw the chains on for stuff like that. No point risking it. I hope the suspension work isn't too much of a hassle.
good luck
Anybody ever replaced the rear quarter panel?

Wow, can't believe I missed this thread! I'm glad you're okay!
Sucks about the damage, but it definitely could have been worse. Those damn plows could have ripped your whole trunk off if it had been at a different angle! Hope the repairs go well for you, without a major pocketbook frenzy...

Thanks Ed, I'm sure it could have been a lot worse; and I'm lucky it wasn't. I really hope the rest of our winter isn't like this or I'll need to invest in some chains or something. I had pretty good traction most of the way up the hill and out, but coming back down was a nightmare - I just about slid into a ditch; managed to avoid that one, but once I recovered from that I was still sliding just trying to keep my car from running away down the incline. I will say though, these things are built tough! Even as slow as I was going, it felt like I hit hard. I was in a newish Chevy Cavalier with a friend a couple years ago that was hit in an intersection by a little Mazda at 12 mph (that's what the police determined - it sure felt like a lot more!) and it smashed the entire car in like a sardine can.
