'98 V70XC w/Bad Oil Leak(s)

Post by kaneco »

Really bad oil leak(s) on a 1998 V70XC. When first purchased the leak was on the passenger side just a couple of drops here and there on the ground. Yesterday I Changed the plugs, cap, and wires and noticed oil in the distributor cap. There was also oil on the wires and hoses in the general area around the cap. I now have noticed a considerable leak on the drivers side as well. Took the car to "Volvo Specialist" and he told me to take it to the dealer and have them diagnose the leak. ($96 an hour) What can I do to diagnose the leak(s) myself and save myself from the drama at the dealership. By the way this is the same dealership that said my transmission was shot but an independant shop replaced the shift solenoids for $200. The car has been running fine since.
