Depending on what kit you got the pintle cap can be a real bear. I picked up some Beck/Arnley kits for my daughter's old Porsche and the caps were real tough to get to snap all the way on. They actually took two clicks to fully seat.

I just watched a few youtube videos for some DIY fuel injector cleaning using carb cleaner at home. Example:

----------
Questions:

1. Has anyone used "Mr. Injector" kit, it seems like a good price ($25 or so) for the kit?

2. Also what kit do I need for 98 S70 GLT?

Looks extremely unsafe;at least the way the guy in the vid chose to do it. If a spark from the switch ignites that highly flammable carby cleaner I can see a lengthy stay at the burns unit of the user's local hospital.

With some improvements like a relay and switch situated at least 4-5 feet from the flammable material and some fixed clamps to hold the syringe upright and perhaps some flex tube from the spray nozzle it might even keep the user from injury.

It'd be real nice if the kit had some inclusions like vials with graduated cc markings so you can measure flow rates before and after the clean.

All in all anything that helps folks DIY is great but it looks more like a prototype than a working solution.

Any one know where to get the injector kit today (2019)? Also do you guys think a chipped Pinole cap could cause vacuum leaks?

Thank God ! I was having this terrible dream that it was 2020 and we were in the middle of some sort of global pandemic :)
And maybe just buy a rebuilt set and call it done. Might be worth it in the long run...

Or send your injectors to Witch Hunter for cleaning. They return them with new o-rings and pintle caps. At $22 per injector, it's a deal. Quick turnaround too.
Current Volvos:

2002 2.9 S80 - Wife's car, the "Silver Flash"

Former Volvos:

1984 244 DL B23F - warped head after radiator blew
1982 245 GL B21A - My first Volvo. Sold with 400,000 km on it.
