Re: XC90 tune up+

[quote="stone36"]So I played some get to know you games with the XC90 today in anticipation of my tune up. It does not have regular plug wires, instead it has a coil or something built in to each, so I am not going to replace those ($50 per plug!!!).

Those "coils" are called Coil Packs, you don't need to change them as long as the car runs fine. I know some coil packs can have small defects which allow a spark to ground out to the engine block, they usually show up as a tiny tiny dot if you can see them at all. But since the car is running fine and has only 45k on it, you shouldn't need to worry about that.

Hello,

Thanks for the pdf on this subject. I was able to complete the air/cabin air/oil/and fuel filter however, when I got to the spark plugs I looked at my engine compared to the 5cyl in the picture it was completely different as I have the T6. Can anyone help me out on how to change the spark plugs for a 2005 XC90 T6?

Thanks,

Besides this NOT AT ALL being the forum to post your ad on, I went to your website and to shop by car Volvo is not even listed... You don't sell Volvo parts, why are you posting here?

Does anyone know the correct OEM part number for the fuel filter of an '06 XC90 2.5T AWD? Looking online I'm finding conflicting information. Two part numbers are coming up depending on the web site: 30636704 and 30620512. Also, specifically I was looking at a Mann filter - the WK 832/2 corresponds to the 30636704 or the WK 822/2 corresponds to the 30620512. Mann's website says the 822 is the correct filter, but other sites including FCP Groton say it's the other. Anyone have experience with the Mann fuel filter?

I don't know the exact part number, but FCP, IPD, etc. will usually specify OEM vs. aftermarket. If it is OEM but not blue box volvo (volvo branded part) then that will have a different part number. But if it's marked OEM that is the same one volvo used originally, it just costs more because someone had to paint the word volvo all over it... :)

Okay, one year later and I'm still looking to replace the fuel filter on the '06 xc90 2.5t (I haven't reached 120K miles yet so, it hasn't been a priority)..I did a google search and came upon my own post, because yet again, I am seeing conflicting information online as to whether the correct Mann filter part is wk832/2 or 822/2. It doesn't appear that this is an OEM vs. Aftermarket part # difference as the dimensions in the Mann catalogue show that the 832/2 is 6.89in high and the 822/2 is 6.42in high. Does anyone know which one it is? :?:

I just completed what will be my first of many installments of repairs to my Volvo XC90 as I prepare to get it through the next 100k miles. Here is a link to my replacement of the Fuel Filter. Now I understand cars and military aircraft, but I am the driver never the mechanic. So, please critic my maint practice or advice on the video.
Hope this helps all those who are considering doing this job.
