s60 t5 or s60 r??
hey guys, i'm thinking about buying an r and putting an evolve exhaust on it, but talking to the techs at my dealeership..some are telling me to just go with a t5 to save maint. costs...any input on that??

Exhaust doesn't help much without a tune.
If I had my choice between a well maintained R and a well maintained T5 I would pick the R . Buy as new as you can as the 04 seemed to have more issues than the 05. If you get a stick make sure the clutch slave is in good shape.
I do think a T5 will cost less to maintain. But if you take a well tuned R through a corner you will end up buying it.

Yes an R is more expensive to maintain when out of warranty.
No AWD in a T5 to worry about
No 4C suspension with it's $600 shocks and multipe sensors to worry about.
No (goofy) twin fuel pump system to worry about
The R IS much quicker though and when right is more fun to drive with no FWD torque steer
