Power window - track alignment

Post by coggs »

My (2001 XC70) passenger side window pops out of alignment about 3" from closing. It also will only go down about 1/3rd of the way before it stops. Obviously some part of the power mechanism inside the door has bent/broken. I removed the door panel figuring I could at least see what the problem was, but was unable to do so because of another layer of sheet metal between me and the window assembly. Any idea of what the problem is and cost to fix? I seem to remember driving my my old 740 for a year or two with window draft noise becasue I couldn't just ify the cost to repair the mechanism.
