Maybe bad ground problem?

Post by Abben3 »

Hello, I have a 1990 740 Turbo with 122k on it. Now everything on the cluster doesnt work expect for the boost gage. Yet 3 days ago, the rpm/gas/battery gage worked and now its just the boost gage. I installed a new cluster and nothing. The mechainc checked the relays/fuses and he said it was all ok. So yesterday after looking for an electric mechanic when I get home the car just died, then it doesnt start unless jumped after its jumped the car is ok unless you remove the battery jump then the car sputters and dies out. So today I bought and installed a new diehard battery and tomorrow will check to see if its the alternator and or voltage regulator. If you guys can help thanks.

Are you sure you connected everything properly on the back of the cluster? I hooked up mine improperly on a 240 and it would not run.
