VOLVO 850 TIMING BELT

Post by TEK911 »

The timing belt on my 1993 850 went yesterday. I had it towed to a mechanic who said that there is damage to the pistons and valves. Does anybody know if there could be any other damage as a result of this (to the engine)? Thanks!

I can't answer your question directly. I can say it's enough damage to warrant a new engine or a rebuild, so your question may be moot. Unless of course you're going to rebuild it yourself :D

What was the mileage at breakage? How many miles were on the belt?
