Left turn signal out entire side HELP!!!

Post by negroprieto »

Hello,

The left turn signal on my 01 V70 T5 is out entirely. The local dealer claims is the CEM. As I Understand it the CEM controls a lot of stuff, but thr left signal is the only problem I have. If the CEM is bad shoul'nt I have more problems? Has anybody heard of this before? Thanks in advance.

I would think if the CEM went bad, the right turn signal would not work either. There could be a short in the wiring that is causing the issue.

Thanks for your reply!!!! I agree with your take because its just the one side and everything else works. I will have to take it somewhere else to get a second opinion. Could it be the switch? Have those been a problem?

I was thinking about this last night and it occurred to me that the switch would cause the problem. Does the car act like there is any input received when you try to activate the left turn signal? Does the left turn dash indicator light up? Do you receive and error message when activating the switch?

Well....I was getting an error messege about the turn signal and a fast flash. A day or two ago the alarm activated on its own. Today I had a false open door indication on the display and my interior courtesy lights were staying on. I had to remove the CEM fuse to get the lights off. My guess would be the CEM....
