I have had a constant list of things that have needed fixing since I bought my 2003 xc90 T6 used at 43,000 km. It has extended warranty, and everything is covered, but it is a huge pain having to bring this in to the shop every 2 months. First I was getting some weird messages from the message centre, then the wheel bearings needed replacing, now surging when I really step on the gas.
We noticed it when we were headed up to Alberta from B.C. this summer. If I really stepped on the gas when going up a hill, the power would fall back then increase, fall back then increase, over and over. You could watch the tachometer cycling up and down by about 500-750 rpm once every 1-2 seconds.
I brought it in to be repaired. When they road-tested to diagnose it, they said they couldn't reproduce the problem but the computer told them I needed some new parts and a software upgrade. Of course the parts weren't in so they ordered them and I had to come back. When they did the "repair", they put it a new "temp/pressure sensor" and a "map sensor". They told me they road-tested it after and it fixed the problem. I drove the car home and of course, it was not fixed.
This is very frustrating and unaccepatable for a vehicle that retails at over $65,000 Cdn. We love our vehicle and its great for our family, but I don't think I'll buy a Volvo again.

I brought it in and suggested they look at the turbo boost solenoid valve, as seemed to have solved the problem in the above noted posts. They replaced it, and also did a software upgrade, and the problem was solved.
Thanks again, Matt.
Thanks again, Matt.
