I elected to replace the RH outer tie-rod on my wife's '05 T6 today and wound up with a nice treat. After a successful battle with the locknut, I discovered the inner tie-rod was seized to the outer and so I must now replace it also. Does anybody have a digital version of the factory service manual that they would be willing to share the section dealing with the tie-rod replacement from?
Hopefully it will shed light upon how to remove the inner clamp securing the boot protecting the inner joints as it looks to be my next treat.
I am amazed at the poor choice of section used by on the inner tie-rod whereby they provide a meagre 13mm hex to react the tightening/loosening torque of a 20mm locknut!

JDS60R, thanks so much for the manual pages.
ed7, thanks also for your suggestions. Is the left-hand-thread on the inner tie-rod to rack end as it is not on the inner-to-outer?
I am a bit concerned by the complicated tools shown in the manual. I can understand the need to keep the rack-bar from rotating while torqueing the inner tie-rod to it, but is that not feasible without the factory tools?
Also, the lenth of the rod appears to require one long socket to secure it to the rack-bar...another factory tool. Is this a dealer-only job or is it feasible using conventional shop tools?
Thanks
