Cat code question

Post by dosbricks »

About 6 mos. ago my wagon (112K) threw the P0422 (main catalyst efficiency below threshold) code. On advice from some guys on the board, I replaced the rear O2 sensor first cause it can trigger 0422. No problem til last week when 0422 kicked again.

Question: Would it be worthwhile to replace the front O2 sensor which has 62K on it, on the outside chance the old front and new rear are not dancing to the same tune?. . . or am I doomed to cat replacement?

Thanks in advance for any comments.

Fraternally,

If you want, you could buy a magnaflow sport cat on ebay for $60 and have a muffler shop weld it in for another $40. I've had mine setup w/ a 3" downpipe for well over a year and have had zero problems with it.
