850 t5 Pulsing vibration under load

Post by norfolkpauly »

Hi All

I've noticed a bit of a vibration from the engine when I'm pulling away, it's not severe, just annoying as it makes the dash rattle!

Any ideas chaps?

I would start by checking the upper torque mount that holds the top of the engine. Look at the rubber bushing inside - if it is cracked or missing chunks out of it, you need to replace that one. Likewise, the lower (front) engine mount - towards the right wheel of the car - is one that collapses after many years and will leave you with lots of vibration. For that one, you should be able to get a finger easily in between the bottom of the oil pan and the subframe.

Thanks Mr Blackburn, I'll investigate further and keep you posted of the outcome.
