Back door lock wont move 1993 Volvo 240
So I've had my Volvo for a few years now and I've never had any trouble with the doors. About three months ago my back driver side door lock started getting hard to push down. Then About a month ago it stopped moving all together. It wont move no matter what! Even if I lock the driver door. I took the door panel off and unscrewed the knob itself to see if it needed cleaning but nothing stuck out. But the entire locking mechanism was hard to move even the rods in the door panel. I don't live in a neighborhood where it would be very safe for me to be leaving my back door unlocked. Please, any help would be great! I'm very handy and would like to try fixing it myself. Thanks!

My suspicion is the electric motor itself has seized. the locking linkage is directly linked to it. You can go lower in the door and you will find it linked to the door lock via a rod. You can disconnect it and see if that makes things move easily. The lock itself could have rusted and if that is the problem you can try lots of WD-40 or PB Blaster and see if it gets freed up by that.
