Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

2005 S80 Signal Arm Replacement

Post by cgarbe »

I have searched the forum for this problem and have not found a specfic topic/discussion at this point. Let me know if I have overlooked.
Over the last 6 months my left turn signal has stopped working when it locks into the normal left turn position. Sometimes if you hold it right before the left turn lock position or jiggle the arm the signal will work briefly. At other times you can use it without a problem. Over the last several weeks it has become steadily harder to find a particular angle to hold the lever to get the signal to activate. This problem only occurs with left turns as the right turn signal activates and works properly. I expect I need to replace the turn signal arm. Wondering if anyone has insight on how to complete the process and also the best website to order the part. Appreciate any insight and/or direction you can provide.

Thanks

It seems to be a straightforward job. As for parts our sponsors MyVolvoPartsOnline and VolvoWholesaleParts have the part listed.
Their adverts at the top of the forum are links. Phone them, they are very helpful.

Thank you Bill for your quick help. The pdf file was perfect and it does look like a straight forward job. I was also able to find the part on MyVolvoPartsOnline and I verified it by phone that the part was for my VIN number. I really appreciate your help!
