Problem #1: I bought a used 2000 S80 T6. Whenever I go over a crack in the road I hear a clunk or thumping noise coming from the right front. My first thought is the strut, but after researching parts, I see you can also purchase strut bushings. Could that be the only problem and the strut is OK? Any recommendations?
Problem #2: The CD player swallowed a disc and now says "CD Error" - how do I get the disc back and the CD player to work?
Problem #3: Dash indicates Emmision Service Required. I took car to Autozone where they hooked up their code reader and it replied secondary fuel pump system needs fixing? Anyone else experience this problem? Car is running good, so I don't know what it could be other than a computer glitch?
Being this is my first Volvo - I am a little reluctant to have the dealer do all the work as I think the dealer will rake me over the coals.
Thanks,
GC

GCCO,
Did the folks at AZ give you a code Pxxx? That would help.
The unfortunate thing about the strut mounts is that they are made out of rubber and they do wear out quickly. However, if the struts are original to the car, I'd look at replacing both. The reason is that a pair of strut mounts are about $80 and everything that has to be removed is identical to having a strut replaced.
No help to you on the CD... Removing the console pieces to get to the radio is not that hard, but getting your CD out doesn't answer why it happened.
If you could get a code for your emissions, that would be of help.

Thanks. I did replace one of upper mounts and that took care of the clunking noise. I finally removed the whole strut and took it in to the dealer and they told me they have hundreds of them (rubber mounts) in stock for this same reason.
No luck on the codes, I plan on taking it soon. And for the radio, Volvo told me $400. I don't really need the CD back or need to listen to any. The radio still works!
Thanks again.
