Guests to the site

Post by aahmes57 »

What's really amazing about this site is the amount of guests at any given time (when I look) hoovers around 100.
Although there are new members joining everyday it doesn't come close to the amount of daily guests.
I don't know if they are the same 100 guests all the time (don't think so) but if even half of them were to register ( which is very easy compared to some other forums I've seen) I'm almost certain that it would improve the site.

Just trying to think of some idea to have those folks join rather then just be guests.

Am I off base here or are there a LOT of guests?

I only login if I'm posting. The rest of the time the side sees me as a "guest"

I get it. Most guests are members not logged in.

We don't know that for sure, but it is a reasonable assumption. Until I hit the 'Post Reply' then logged on I would be showing as a guest.

It's just the nature of human behavior. Google sends thousands of visitors here daily (the other engines send users, but not nearly as many)... most people are looking for something, find it, and leave. No registration or login necessary.

The minority -- registered members -- are users who don't find what they need -- and have to ask -- or those who want to be part of the membership here and help others. Some I'm sure are those who want to use the tools only available to logged in members, like subscribing to topics (you get an email if there is an additional post to a topic).
Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.

Also -> Amazon link
