Coolant Smell ~~ Core?

Post by S70 Guy »

I get a slight smell of coolant inside my car. I checked under the hood and didnt see any coolant anywhere. What else could it be and how do I fix it before there is snow on the ground?

Probably a leak in the heater core. Requires replacement but is not a terribly difficult job.

Any instructions on how to get to the heater core and replace it?

Get yourself a Haynes Manual for the car, it is explained fairly well. It does not appear to be very difficult at all. Of course with the Haynes Manuals there is some ambiguity in their instructions. i.e. things like "Remove seven screws" as a step without really telling you where these screws maybe located. Usually you can figure it out though.
