Air bag deployed kill switch

Post by BRayl »

Is there a switch/sensor that disables the vehicle after the airbags deploy? I purchased the new parts needed to fix it, but I cannot get the car to run! It will start, but die (or rev really low) once placed into gear. I've heard there is a switch under a seat somewhere, but don't want to go on a fruitless search! Please help.

Late model volvos kill the motor with airbag deployment but the reset is to turn ignition off and back on.
There must be something else wrong. The accident may have damaged something for the fuel system that is up front.
I have seen one faulty crash sensor (airbag control unit) that continued to send the crash signal to engine computer but it kept shutting engine off, not just weak performance.

Thanks! I unhooked the battery, and hooked it back up. It seems to work now, but haven't driven it very far to be sure. Will do so later today. I'm guessing that killing the juice may have reset something...
