HI
I’m new to this forum. My wife's XC90 T6 is not building boost. I know a bit about turbo engines so I wanted to know possible causes from you guys so I could fix it
No check engine light, so I think is mechanical issue rather than electrical. Does anyone have a diagram of the turbo system? looking to test the waste gate, boost controller/brain and vacuum lines.
The car does idle fine and runs fine, just imagine your T6 w/o turbos
It’s a random problem, it suddenly build boost and drives fine or just doesn’t build boost at all
Thanks in advance
Matt

Hmmm, it sounds remotely close to what my 04 T5 was doing. It drove fine, no check engine light, or codes in the ECM...just overall sluggish. One question, can you hear the turbo "whine"? The first thing I notice was a slight leak in the TCV lines that ran to the turbo. I decided to upgrade to IPD's turbo control valve, and my T5 came to life! I would recomment replacing or at least start diagnosing the TCV unit and the vacuum lines. You can order high quality lines and a heavy duty TCV from IPDUsa: http://www.ipdusa.com/product.asp?strPa ... rtRecord=1
Give them a call, because the website is only listing a TCV for the T5 engines, and not the 6 cylinder...stange, because I swore they offered a T6 model couple of months ago
Hope this helps!

Hello, I have a XC90 2004 T6, It has motor oil leak, but the dealer says the leak comes from the turbocharger, also when I push the accelerator pedal (at the half, not to bottom) and then I let it go very fast (remove my foot of the pedal), I can hear a ¨whistle or whine¨ for about 1 second. The Volvo specialist says that my turbocharger must be replaced ($1,000 only part approx. cost).
What do you guys think? Thanks and Regards!
