rear end wanders after hitting bumps
rear end wanders after hitting bumps
2001 s60 t5. rear end wanders to the right when I hit bumps. rotated tires, checked air pressure, looked under car, no obvious broken or separated parts. right shock does have oil on it. any suggestions?

Replace the shocks first. Without functioning dampeners (shocks) you are giving up control. The leak is a sure sign its failed.
If the problem persists have it aligned. The S60 had many issues with this especially in AWD trim. Usually referred to as side hop or other catchy names. The main issue is the rear camber alignment setting. IPD makes bushings to correct if you are too far out of spec. For some model years there is a revised bushing set.

Have the car aligned (4 wheel alignment) then see if you're OK

If you want to take the rear wheels off again, replacing the rear sway bar endlinks might help a little more with the stability. T5's came standard rear sways if I remember correctly and it is a wear item.
