Airbag Module Reset....

Post by 18wheelerbob »

This general information is for all cars from 1999- on with airbags. Let me start by this short story. Purchased an 2003 Volvo V40 with 57k miles with a Recontructed Title, No big deal to me used only as a station car(savings$5k). My airbags light would not reset. The Dealer wanted $1000.00 for parts and labor. I also could have purchased the module new after market for $450.00 or have taken a chance for an eBay used let's take a chance deal :) I found this place on line "My Airbags" www.myairbags.com Not only did they reset my airbag module to factory spec removing all hard and soft codes the turn around was amazing. Shipped out Monday morning Priority mail got it back Friday same week! Guess what after remove a few fuses and disconnecting the battery of over an half an hour. It worked!!!! No more airbags light on. It only comes on when starting the car and then it turns off like it should with all the other lights. All for less than $50.00. They also do seat belt repair and mileage correction. This was a real savings for me!

Do you work for them? I have seen you write the exact same thing word for word on 3 different Volvo sites now...

No, never worked for them, but could be a good business for those with some knowledge. I just can't see why anyone who pay dealer's price for a new module or spend several hundreds of dollars for an aftermarket one.
Isn't site like this one is to advise others on how to save money on repairs on similiar cars?

Well,
We have seen what has happened with the infamous ABS modules.
When someone gets adventurous and the information gets out, prices drop to meet the market.
Everyone benefits.
If it turns out to be Bug Spit, that too will be known and shared.
