is this normal. Also, see the smoke out of the dipstick? Is this a PCV or an oil cooler problem? Thanks.

Ticking is normal.

Smoke from dipstick is indication of clogged oil vapor recovery system . referred to as flame trap. Search for same to see procedure to fix. Generally caused by use of low quality lubricant in engine or failure to regularly change oil.
