V70 seatbelt reminder stays on

Post by Pot Bellied Fool »

Hi All

My old faithfull 850 estate was traded in today - for a rather nice V70 T5 Estate :D :D Oh yes, I do like it!

Just a bit of a niggle though, the seatbelt reminder lights carry on flashing even though the seatbelt is most definately on & locked into position. (I'm in the UK where seatbelt wearing is compulsory anyway)

Any suggestions on where to start with either fault finding or alternatively, disabling the reminder.

Otherwise it'll only be a matter of time before I'm pulled over by a bobby who can see the flashing lights & thinks I'm not wearing a belt...

Cheers - PBF

Sounds like the sensor in the seatbelt receptacle. Can you wiggle it around any at all ad it goes out? Try the passanger side seatbelt in your receptacle and see if it makes a difference. Worst case would to have to exachange the receptable locking unit on your seatbelt as I doubt it is the strap that stretches around your shoulder and chest that is bad.
