List of errors for: ECU SRS with code 0107
SRS-0107 Control module. Internal fault
SRS-0107 Control unit. Internal fault. Intermittent fault
SRS-0107 Driver airbag, stage 1. Faulty signal. Intermittent fault
SRS-0107 Driver airbag, stage 1. Faulty signal. Permanent fault

The above list may not be as comprehensive as what a dealer would have, but I have found it to be pretty handy. I agree with JRL on the fact that typically these modules are plug and play as long as you are replacing with the same part # and the used module has no stored codes itself. I have also never seen a module that could not be reset, but you could have a module that is beyond repair I suppose.
V70 2003 SRS Code 0107 - Control module internal error
Just a quick update
Have fitted new SRS ECU, currently code reader indicates that it cannot communicate with ECU, but at least all the basic car functions now work (electric locking, ns door electrics, internal lights..) I will now have to try and find someone who can programme it in the South of the UK.
I know volvo can and I guess it will be to the dealer.

Hi
Just for completeness, I took my V70 to the closest Volvo dealer who loaded new software and all is now fine.
I understand the software has a part code which is specific to the part code of the ECU and after loading, all is fine with no SRS light for the first time since I bought the car.
What is even better, the dealer charged me less than their quote. A big thanks to Bishop Stortford Volvo.

A brief follow up:
I took the car into a local volvo dealer and they programmed the new ECU. The cost was the software and the labour.
All now working fine and the SRS light is extinguished for the first time since I purchased the car.
My volvo dealer did this at a lower price than their quote, so really delighted.
Thanks to all for their advice.
