i have 4 codes showing on my 99 S80 T6. I'm trying to find any info as to what to look for first. Ive found a few posts regarding one of the codes but they listed two conflictin solutions so I thought maybe the other codes I have will help to narrow it down. Thank you for any help. Codes are P0172, P0175, P1181, P1171.

Check entire system for vacuum and or boost leaks.
Verify MAF airflow is consistant with ProScan, have it log MAF g/s at idle and also when you lift off the gas while idling. Dont read the screen while driving of course
Hmm actually looking at the freeze frame its looks like it threw the code when you let off the gas but were still rolling.

I agree, Faulty MAF and hose or intercooler leaks fit the codes.
How does it run? Any unusual noises?
Does ProScan have sensor monitoring?
If it does, then find MAF and give idling, a/c off, in park reading with units given by the ProScan software.
Volvo spec is in kG/min but it can be converted if it is in G/sec.

It runs good but a little lower performance than it should have. Gas mileage is about the same it has been since i got it last June. No odd noises. Just replaced oil cooler last week but it was throwing these codes long before that. MAF values at idle reading between 0.959010840504217, lb/min and 0.992080179831949, lb/min and 722 - 750 rpm

That translates to 7.25 - 7.5g\sec. Jimmy might be able to tell if this is good or bad. Did you check for vacuum leaks? Take a MAF trace at WOT too.

developed another problem today. One of the water lines going to the oil cooler started dripping today. It seems I had a small hole where I tightened the clamp. When I was fixing it I saw a little oil on the back of the engine below the exhaust manifold. Perhaps an 1/8 of a cup or less. Little enough it could have been an accidental spill even but there was a very strong smell that is similar to severely overheated brakes. Can smell it a little from the top back of the engine as well but much fainter. any ideas? Do you think they are related? Pass the excedrin....
