New Gal on the Block
New Gal on the Block
My name is Bonnie and I'm the proud owner of a 2011 s80 3.2, a Valentine's day gift from my wonderful husband. It had only 5 miles on it when we took it for a test drive, it now has 188 miles and I'm looking forward to our road trips. I had been driving a 2000 Passat for 11 years, very comfortable BUT the s80 is fabulous!

The new S80's are a wonderful car. Great ride and great steering feel and brakes. 2011 just got improvements to the already great steering and gained a few horsepower too.
Welcome and enjoy the Volvo.

Hi Bonnie, it will probably be ten years (fingers crossed) until you require any technical support from MVS but welcome from here in Down Under all the same.

Thank you, I've discovered a few blemishes and an electrical glitch to straighten out, will stick with it til resolved. My 2000 Passat is pristine and I expected even better from Volvo. I still love driving my new car but I'm a bit let down by the dealership.
We looked the car over several times before deciding to make the purchase and thought it looked fine, especially in the show room light, everthing looked good-I am a total detail person. Two days later we made the actual purchase, we were shuttled into an office for the paperwork because the car wasn't quite ready for us. So we handled the paperwork then were led to the car where we started to discover several scratches, scuffs in various areas and a gounge in the paint in the truck area which I knew to be the biggest concern. At this point, the dealership apologized up and down and said "their guy will make it invisible, trust us". We trusted them and my husband and I are still kicking ourselves over the handling of this issue. Yet in the big scope of things, I feel a bit foolish complaining because this isn't a life or death issue BUT I AM FANATIC ABOUT THE APPEARANCE OF OUR VEHICLES.
Car was worked on yesterday. One scuff and 6 scratches on roof were taken care of, a 12" length of scuffs and scratches on rear bumper taken care of, 3" scuff on hood now ok but 2-1/2" scratches on hood were reduced to a nick, 2" scuff on driver door now ok. The trunk paint gouge was a larger than pea size on the rear body edge next to trunk lid opening along with a 1/16" wide- 2-3"straight scratch thru clear coat on truck lid that continued onto the body.
The truck lid/gouge repair is unacceptable to me-besides appearing/feeling slightly lumpy, the color not a good match-I have electric silver, the scratch is filled in nicely but still quite visible. Dealership offered to re do yet I know allowing them a second attempt to "make it right" would be disasterous.
The bluetooth worked great for about 1 hour, shows lost connection, tried another phone, didn't work, tried all week no operation, back to the dealership yesterday and you guessed it- it worked. On the way home from dealership is again went to lost connection. We live in a small community/rural but far from seclusion, I guess the next stop is the cell phone store.
