S60 2.4T control arm replacement question

Post by regutierrez »

My S60 has 105K miles and I took it to the dealer because the car was not very stable during lane change at high speed. They said that the control arm bushings were damaged. I will like to know if it is recommended to only replace the damaged bushings or should I replace the entire control arm. If this something a handy person can do? The dealer wants to replace the entire control arm and they charge a lot of money for this Job. Any feed back will be greatly appreciated.

No
Tell the dealer you just want new bushings pressed in and unless you have a press, you can't do it

Take it to an Independent Volvo shop for a second quote, or a good alignment shop.. you do no have to replace the control arm but I would consider doing both sides..
