Rattle under car

1999 xc. Something is rattling under the car as I drive. It sounds like the spinning drive shaft for the rear wheels is rat a tat tapping against the tail pipe or something. But I can't isolate it or figure out what it is. I've laid under the car and looked but nothing seems apparent. Anyone have any ideas?

I'd get under the car and shake the exhaust some,move it up and down a little , check all the hanger mounts, check for and loose heat shields around the exhaust system where the mount to the car.
I've also had the rear bumper mounts rust out which caused a rattle. Check for anything loose in the spare tire compartment.

I had a similar rattle attack and turns out it was an exhaust heat shield.
