Recommend a shop to rebuild a trans in LA area?

So, it's time for the big rebuild. I have the shop that's been doing a ton of work on my E30 and they're great but I'm hoping to get a couple of quotes since it's a big job. Anyone else have any good experiences in the LA area? I'm in Sherman Oaks.

Try to find a Volvo dealer that will sell you a new (rebuilt from Volvo) at 10% over cost.
It's possible, negotiate.
Dealer cost is about $2100 or so.
I can get the exact number tomorrow if you wish.
In the long run that way will cost less or at least the same as a rebuild and you get a new tranny with a 1 year WARRANTY!

The rebuild I'm getting comes with a 1 year warranty. Isn't a "new" trans from Volvo actually a rebuilt one anyways?

I haven't had any luck getting any "deals" out of Volvo dealers around here.

Been looking at dealers and they are all getting bad reviews around here.
