My 740 does NOT have a relay on the coolant tank. I have seen this relay shown in the Haynes manual. My radio works great (no noise). Don't know what else to tell.

It is called the radio suppression relay but it supplies voltage to the injectors. Car will not start if it is bad. Ipd catalog www.ipdusa.com has a writeup about it in their currnet flyer.

I have the volvo wiring diagram for my 88 240 it cost me about 27$ from volvo technnical publications but it has wiring diagrams for each fuze, every single relay location on the entire car (there are alot of them 20+) and a big fold out wiring diagram. I wish I had known and bought it sooner. I think it is worth it. You can't really troubleshoot electrical problems without a good wiring diagram.
