S70 check engine can up code P0116???? Topic is solved

S70 check engine can up code P0116????

Hello my wife S70 Check engine msg can up yesturday.

I when to Autozone and but a OBD II Auto scanner call ACTRON
any way the scanner give me the folloing code.

P0116 Engine coolant Temp CKT Range /perf

I don't have a clue what this code means.

It looks like it has to do with my cooling systems?
or a censer for my cooling system?
I don't know jack...

Sounds like the coolant temperature sensor, which costs about $30 and is plugged in right in the area of the thermostat housing.

coolant temperature sensor, yes I think you right about that.

I thisk if was the thermostat the car will be heating up by now but is not
so I will go with your in put of the senser.

Wait, so the car is not reaching full operating temperature? If so, it'd be much cheaper to just throw a new thermostat in there to see if it solves the problem. If not, consider it preventative maintenance.

Wait, so the car is not reaching full operating temperature? If so, it'd be much cheaper to just throw a new thermostat in there to see if it solves the problem. If not, consider it preventative maintenance.

Yes I am changing the thermostat and also the sensor ta the same time.
they all in the same place.

My next question is, dou I need and special ranch to take out the bold for the sensor? not one of my ranches can't take this bold out. :?

I just had the same code pop, replaced the theromstat and coolant sensor, and NOW MY CAR WONT ACCELERATE!!! It starts, idles a bit funny, and when you step on the gas it lags, accelerates slightly, and then no more power. Please help because I am out of ideas!!!
