Hello every one ...
I have a friend with a key fob LQNP2T-APU which works from time to time and he has to press the buttons many times in order to lock or unlock the car.
I changed the battery and the problem is still there.
The dealer says, the key fob has most probably to be reprogrammed.
Has anyone had such a problem so far?
Thanks.

Hi Andy.
I think the only way to solve that problem is to program the remote.
I have VIDA-DICE and will probably try. I already did, but my friend's battery is no good, so I didn't succeed.
I'll try again after connecting a good battery or a portable power supply.

ok, let me know how that goes, although with a new battery the remote works perfectly but goes flat very quickly. I am going to try disconnecting the vehicle battery and see if that helps? My only other thought is whether my vehicle battery is a bit low and is "sapping" the power from the remotes/

I was talking about the car battery and especially that I can not do diagnostics or programming (adaptation) of anything on a car with a bad car battery, as if the voltage drops down during programming, there will be serious damage to the car's electronics.

This is common
You need to open it up and carefully pry the contacts higher so as they make contact easier

Hi tried this no success
interesting thing is I have two fobs, if I use fob 2 to lock and unlock car, BUT not to drive it - it appears to be OK and the [remote] battery holds charge. BUT if I use it to start the car as well as lock/unlock it then within 48 hours it fails like fob 1. I have disconnected the car battery today for 20 mins to see if that "reset" anything but no change. I am going to fit another new battery today to fob 1 and see what happens, keeping fob 2 in reserve to lock/unlock car.

Could it be that the battery in the remote fob is a rechargeable one (like the ones in the BMW remote fobs) and because of that occurs the problem of the short battery life?
The battery in the BMW remote fobs gets charged by induction while in the ignition lock.
